The work performed requirescompletion of law school with an L.L.B. degree or J.D. degreeand admission to the bar. Responsibilities or functions includeone or more of the following or comparable duties:1. Preparing and reviewing various legal instruments and documents,such as contracts, leases, licenses, purchases, sales, real estate,et c.,2. Acting as agent of the organization in its transactions,3. Examining material (advertisements, publications, etc.)for legal implications, advising officials of proposed legislationwhich might affect the organization,4. Applying for patents, copyrights, or registration of the organizationproducts, processes, devices, and trademarks, advising whetherto initiate or defend law suits,5. Conducting pretrial preparations, defending the organizationin lawsuits,6. Prosecuting criminal cas Attorney V work is characterized by Level 2 Difficulty(D2) and Level 4 Responsibility(R4) -or- by Level 3 Difficulty(D3) and Level 3 Responsibility(R3). Difficulty D-2 Legal work is regularly difficult by reason of one or more of the following: the absence of clear and directly applicable legal precedents, the different possible interpretations that can be placed on the facts, the laws, or the precedents involved, the substantial importance of the legal matters to the organization, or the matter is being strongly pressed or contested in formal proceedings or in negotiations by the individuals or corporations.
